Billykirk Trucker Wallet
Any man understands the importance of investing in a good wallet
For me having a good watch and wallet just makes you feel confident, and you can never have enough of either. Wallet specialists Lombres sent me over a Billykirk ‘Trucker Wallet’ to review.
Billykirk is a leather and canvas design brand based in the USA, specialising in handmade products since 1999, made up either by in-house artisans or by a group of Amish leather crafters in Pennsylvania. They say their focus lies in creating products that are understated, simple and functional, appreciating the constant need for products with longevity.
The wallet arrived from Lombres with a cotton drawstring bag, to protect it from unnecessary scuffs. When I removed the packaging the first thing I noticed was the craftsmanship of the wallet. It feels like quality when you pick it up and has a weighty feel to it. The stitching detail also added to the minimalism of the design, yet rather appealing at the same time. The outer of the wallet also includes an embossed Billykirk logo with a cardholder slot that is wide enough for all of my cards that I’ve used so far. The outer holder is very handy when you have to use a card frequently, whether that be a travelcard or day-to-day debit card, it’s so much easier to have it on the outside rather than opening your wallet each time.
I normally opt for conventional wallets, but I wanted to test out something new and this design offers something different. It has two sturdy metal buttons, which I feel won’t lose their functionality anytime soon.
Inside the wallet was one zip compartment – plenty of room for notes and change, then four separate areas to divide up your things. As I’m used to using standard wallet designs, I feel like it could have a couple cardholder slots on the inside, but then again, when using this wallet it helps me reduce the clutter that seems to build up when I’m on the move.
This Billykirk Trucker wallet is a great piece of craftsmanship and I can’t wait to use it more. I believe the more I use it, the better the leather is going to look and I’m a big fan of the outer cardholder for when I’m on the go.
