The Rollneck

The Rollneck

There are days when I’ll be stuck on what to wear, and what occasion to dress for. If I’m heading somewhere in the day, but also going to an event in the evening, my outfit has to work for both things.

Rollnecks I feel overcome this problem quite nicely, offering a touch of smartness, and with it turning cooler, it’s ideal to wear rather than a shirt. Black is always a safe option, but I would also perhaps wear shades of grey and possibly even whites and creams.

In my opinion, you can’t get away with wearing jeans to a formal event, so when you’re having to wearing an outfit all day and wanting to try and keep your look relatively smart casual, patterned trousers are a nice go between. I’ve wore these trousers before as part of a day-to-day casual outfit, but when paired with a rollneck, it instantly becomes smarter.

For me, a good pair of shoes makes an outfit all the better. I picked up these amazing Dr.Martens studded brogues at their factory shop in Wollaston (If you live in the Midlands, I highly recommend you take a visit!) They are my statement pair of shoes, and every guy should try and own a pair that becomes the statement to their outfit.

When it decides to rain or your hair just isn’t doing what it’s supposed to, then it is always handy to carry round with you a trilby. I wear mine to University quite a lot, but if it reaches the evening and my hair has took a turn for the worst, then wearing a smart hat can work well.
